JAX defeats Orlando RFC

1966337_10201431246123494_2010822834_oJacksonville RFC played at home this past weekend to face off against Orlando RFC. With this being the only matrix game of the weekend (with all other teams playing in the annual Ruggerfest tournament), the tension was real high. Jacksonville was hungry for another victory after having to forfeit their last game against Miami. Orlando RFC came with almost two full sides so we knew it was going to be a hard-fought game.

Once the game started, Jacksonville pounded the ball down the field to be held to only a penalty kick. Orlando would respond by driving down the field on the next drive and tying game up with their own penalty kick. Jacksonville would be the first to put in a try and would continue to have stout defense to hold Orlando. At half, both teams knew it would be a game till the end. Both teams seemed fairly even, but the edge went to Jacksonville in the scrummaging. JAX nearly won every scrum as well as stealing a few. The forward pack stepped up and created space for the backs to pound in some tries. After the final hooter, the score favored Jacksonville (37) Orlando (24)

Great effort by both teams and we are looking forward to the rematch in 3 weeks, here in Jacksonville.
